2006 Case 440ct skid steer

Anyone got a shot of the quick attach pins on the skid steer? Specifically the way the tapper faces. Right now the taper is facing forward, the boss seems to think they are in the wrong way and we keep poping one side of the bucket off when back blading. I know i put them on the way they came off but if they had been out before and put in wrong before i looked at them that may very well be. We have looked at newer and older equipment and have found them facing both directions.

The taper was facing to the rear on my Case TR320. They were that way from the factory. The taper helps to get the pins lined up in the attachment slot but whether it matters which way it goes is above my pay grade. If the pins are fully seated in the attachment I don't see why the bucket would pop off. Is the bucket loose on the machine? I've seen some pretty loose fitting quick attach plates. I'd verify whether the top of the QA or pins are popping out of the bucket. Just checked my tractor and the pins are also facing to the rear.

As far as I'm aware of, the design of the taper is to 'wedge' the attachment tighter. That would put the face of the taper towards the skid steer operator. I wonder if the slot in the bucket is bent or worn where the taper rides and could be causing it to work the taper upwards?? Or if there isn't enough spring pressure to hold it down?? Or if the upper mount on the bucket is bent or has cracked welds?? If the taper were the other direction, then the pin would fit completely through the attachment hole. That would probably work fine as long as the fit were nice and tight. But what happens when you change to different attachments and the tolerances vary or there is even a little debris on the attachment? Then the attachment might not allow the pin to fit through, or could be sloppy and loose fitting if the hole is a little too large. By having the taper wedge more, it allows for fitting equipment with slightly different tolerances, bent, or gobbed up with debris.

Interesting...here my thought was the other way with the taper facing forward you could leave the handles down and pop into the next atachment Sent from my SM-G903W using Tapatalk

Woops wrong button... we have no issues with any of our attachments getting hooked up with the way the pin faces. Their is some slight play but to me not enough to make it come off. All the springs are new old springs broke. Wondering if the pins are wore out? Guess I'll have to pop them out and spin em around. Sent from my SM-G903W using Tapatalk
