Hi guy this is my 1st post, I been stressing myself trying to figure out if i pushed a button to shut off the 4 x 4 or? if it just stopped working? the front wheels have power but the rear wheels do not. There is a tiny drip that is not leaking much in the "hatch" under the frame? but no major leaks to be alarmed. the 4 x 4 just stopped. there is no lights on the dash, The machine drive just fine but snow is coming soon and cant really plow in 2 x 4 lol.. any help would be great!
Isn't your machine just mechanical full time 4wd? 2 axles, driveshafts, and transfercase?
It is but no power to the rear. They just follow. But everything moves?
Lift the front wheels off the ground with the bucket. Then try moving. Have someone look and see if rear driveshaft turns. If it's turning and machine not moving, then an axle problem. If it's not turning, then a transfer case problem.
Had jcb come out and they did that test. The drive shaft spins, he said it could be a clutch? Butnif it is an axel is that something they can rebuild? Or what goes wrong inside an axel? Jcb quoted me 17k for a axel if needed. But he said they can rebuild in situations
I'm guessing you have just a traditional axl . Not sure how there would be clutches in there. I'm guessing an axle shaft broke inside? Or broken differential gears. Seems like you need to take the axle out and take it apart.
Thats what they are are doing, had it shipped down to the delaer so they can drop the axel and see whats up. the rear wheels spin when in the air. and the drive shaft spins so the trans is ok. has to be something in the pumpkin. i pray!
