Can anyone tell me how the engine oil drain valve works on a 2007 Deere 650J ? It is located on the side of the pan with a drain hose attached. All I can see is a nut on the side of it. Thanks in advance for any help.
There are two styles deere uses on the small engines. The one I think you have has an allen head inside the nut. 1/4 allen key is needed, turn it out . Make sure its a 1/4 " allen key and not metric otherwise you'll strip the head as it doesn't fit tight enough. When tightened you dont need to crank it down just snug is fine otherwise you will damage the valve. The other is a 1/4 turn style and uses a 13mm / 1/2" wrench.
