This machine is throwing a Def Injector Code and it is slowing down the performance of the Machine, it will barely move. We have had the Def Injector Program reset by Dealer 3 times already. What seems to be our problem and what can we do to fix this?
Need a but more information to be of any assistance. You have the Tier 4A (interm) FPT engine? What fault codes are coming up? (I need the fault codes that the dealer got with the laptop. Only a generic fault code will display on your monitor) About how many hours does your machine have? Assuming you have the Tier 4a FPT engine, some common issues are as follows: - Def suction tube cracks, or suction line cracks at fitting on suction tube. Dealer will have codes for low pressure at start up. Unit typically works properly for a while, then will lose def pressure, and de-rate. - Catalyst failure - Dealer will have faults for catalyst efficiency low, or aging limit. You can often remove the NOX sensor, and use a scope to inspect the catalyst. Often a failed catalyst will be visibly cracked or damaged, which can be seen with the scope. - DEF injector - The injector may be dribbling, and building up DEF deposits. Remove the injector and inspect. Dealer can run a test on the injector. The injectors often fail in cold weather, as the injector is cooled by DEF, and cant be cooled if the DEF is still frozen. - NOX sensor - Sensor may be reading improperly. Often there is fault codes in relation to the NOX sensor. Very seldom is there a in-range fault.
