I've got a T590 that's giving me some problems. About a month ago I got the Water in Fuel code and engaged limp mode. Alright maybe bad Fuel. Drained the filter. Same thing. Drained the tank, changed the fuel filter with OEM filter/separator. Same thing. Checked wiring, tried bypassing the Fuel sensor on the separator. Same thing. Unhook the battery for a minute hook it back up and it'll run for however long you want fine. Turn it off and go to run it again the codes back and back into limp mode. Anyone got any ideas here?
Depending on where the sensor is and how much water u had, the sensor may be rusted..?? U might have to “clear” the code also.??
Sensor on these is simply prongs into the fuel. The ECU measures resistance directly, no switch or "sensor" at all. This makes it very sensitive to moisture in the plug, or at any point in the wiring.
