Any help much appreciated. Started off with no final drive movement on the right hand side. After looking at it closer found the right hand sprocket wore thru the bearing mount. Pulled sprocket off and bearing tried to rotate RH final drive with no load on the final drive and would move slightly every now and then with increased engine speed. Had Cat service it and said the joystick need to be replaced. Replaced joystick which worked for 1 minute. Now lost movement from new joystick and tool joystick. Cracked open the hydraulic filter found lots of brass, not good. Will do flush once figure out what piece is bad. Looking for where to start. I understand that fine brass shaving in system is a bad thing. But, would like to understand what components have brass in them to start with those components first.
update - tool moves now but the drive joystick will not beep unless rpm's are increased. which then beeps but no drive movement. thougths?
As always, a Serial Number would be a good start. I'm assuming MDH-something What exactly (if anything) did Cat replace when they "serviced" it.?
Under the right joystick there is a connector for float. Unplug that and see how it acts. The float solenoid will short out and make those machines go crazy. Will throw off five volt and twelve volt system
Thanks for the help. well bad news brass shavings in hyrdualic oil. so pulled 1st pump and would like a pictorial breakdown of the main pump for my guys to chase it down. Thanks again.
In my experience most failures start with a track drive motor.
Still waiting for a Serial Number to identify the correct parts........
Sorry for delay folks back trying to get this thing running again since winter is here and have time. Serial number MDH04765
Let start over, found right hand drive motor was not supported and blew the outer bearing holder all apart. Replaced bearing etc. put all back together and will not move. Lots of brass in hydrualic oil. Draining oil - need to back flush entire system. Need help / procedure? Final drive will not rotate so figure its bad. Took all the bolts out and can not get the final drive to pop out of weldment. Is there a trick to getting it to pop off?
