Cat 299d2 sn dx201266 We removed the hydraulic pump and now need help installing the wires back in place. Can make it go forward and backward but no turning. What have we done wrong
As in the wires on the solenoids on the manifolds or like a Hydraulic hose was put on incorrectly?
Well I am not going to say all the hoses are correct
We're there no colored zip ties or otherwise used? If hoses are possibly mismatched, goes without saying you'll need to route them properly, you'll need to find a routing diagram to help you if you are unsure. Does forward/back move as it should (same controls) or when you say can get it to move forward/back does it work just controlled differently?
Also please don't run Hydraulics if the routing is not right, you may damage your pump or worse!!!
Can you describe exactly what happens when you attempt to go FWD/REV and also when you attempt to turn.? Especially does the machine throw any alarms or warnings on the monitor system. For example does the backup alarm sound when you try to go in REV and does the machine actually move backwards.?
I hope you replaced all O-rings and tightened those damned fittings really good. Cat been having problems with those for many years now. Those are only machines I ever worked on that still under warranty. Because local dealer came up with excuse that “o-ring is NOT part of the fitting/adapter”, and is not covered by warranty, refused to fix it.
