Our old 300H-1 Hitachi is topping 12000 well maintained hours. This machine has a very weak swing and the swing brake takes a long time to stop the machine. So a quick question: If the swing motor is getting tired will the swing brake also be affected? Thanks guys.
The swing brake is only for a park brake. It does not have anything to do with stopping the house from turning. Weak swing can be from the motor leaking by or more likely, the swing cross over reliefs are worn.
I suppose a case drain test is in order to check bypass. Than on to the cross over relief valves.
