when i turn the ignition key to the right this light immediately displays. it stays on when i turn left for glow plugs. any ideas on what this could be? i remember hearing a single click noise before this issue right when i turn the key and hoping its a relay. s/n afw00807, thanks

That is an engine oil pressure warning lamp. It should stay on when the engine isn't running

Check your message inbox for an electrical schemati to help you test the power/start circuits.

Nige, Thank you very much. i think you first sent me the electrical in 2021 and it has made a world of difference. i pasted the picture into a few AIs and they keep suggesting hydro issue. attached is symbols from a 80 page cat icon pdf can i jump the tank sensor to test? its been a while since ive chased down electrical problems i had the cowlings off for too long replacing the engine vibration mounts thanks again Nige

Which simply proves that AI is total BS Why not get yourself an Operation & Maintenance Manual.? You can download one from HERE by putting SEBU7296 in the box and click Search. See attachment below from said manual. The light is for low oil pressure. it should go out once the engine starts but will not be the reason why the engine is not starting. I would suggest to start by removing, clreaning, and reinstalling all the battery cable connections, at the same time ensuring that everything is tight. Do both ends of the ground straps including the one between the engine block and the machine frame. Inspect the battery cables for damage, it may not be obvious from the outside if the green crusties have got at them internally. You might have to twist and spindle them to check cable integrity. Once you have done that use the electrical schematic to chase power right starting from the battery hading towards the fuse box and then onwards past that into the great unknown.......
