Question, has any one else had issues with the stick cylinder drifting in? There is a check valve located on the stick cylinder line going to the rod end of the cylinder. The part number for this valve is 417-1061 Cat does not show a break down of this valve. What is even used for. It looks like there is a pilot line going to the valve. Any help is appreciated.
I have not noticed it on mine.
Good day Most excavators have such a check valve the reason being that the valve spool is not fluid tight they always leak some this results in the arm creeping inwards. The check valve should prevent this happening as a matter of interest you will most likely find a similar valve installed to the boom piston side, if you would like a diagram drop us a line on email. Kind regards Uffex
Has nothing to see with leaks arround the valve spool The check valve prevents the stick fall down when a hose is broken from the cylinder It will lower the stick on a safe speed when hose is broken. Does the cylinder drift in both directions ? No parts are avaible
Good day Folks My response was that to a NAFTA market whom use excavators similar to that of Asia these machine are not equipped with hose failure valves. Kind regards Uffex
I believe uffex is correct. I've seen those load lock valves on machines imported to the US out of Europe. I haven't seen them on domestic US models. Take the pilot line off and cap it and the fitting on the valve and try your drift test again.
