i have a 310a backhoe and its been creaking noticed it was never been grased there.... bushing insert has move.. so the hole of the bushing and the hole of the grease nipple on the one are out 90 degrees.... my other side is off a little but i was able to grease it so its only shifted a little if at all from orginal instert i have tried using a C frame ball joint tool to press it out no luck i tried High speed steerl drill bitts to just drilling a new hole through the bushing i tried also carbide tip drill bits which just seem to be masonary drill bils to drill in the bushing so i dont need to press it out but i cant seem to drill through it... i stuck on what to do to get the one out so i can shift it or even drill a hole... how do it you it??
If you can't get a hole through it to grease it then you might be forced to cut the old bushing out and install a new one. Its really hit or miss with how easily a bushing will come out without having to destroy it. Could easily take a few tons of force to get it moving. For that you would probably need a hydraulic press setup of some sort.
Run a bead across the bearing let it cool and it will fall out.
ah ok so far i tried also now letting it soak muratic acid in the grease nipple hole to hope it can clean out any rust. for the bead.. is that welding a bead and then it just comes out easily? and what do you guys do to install it... i also noticed i not sure if i need to replace it. but when i swing the boom left or right it has a shake to it.. or its not like a stiffness... is that bushings too.. ya and no press for me here it be me beating it wtih a hammer unless there is a simpler way as the Ball joint installer/remover wasnt cutting it
