The question is still a little confusing. Do you have a bore diameter with .004 wear on it ? I am assuming that if you are going to run a ball hone in it you are overhauling the engine. Would that be correct ? You won't be able to do much about piston ring end gap unless you have installed new sleeves or you have bored the cylinders to an industry standard oversize.
