Thought I would add something shiney for the forum to look at. Enjoy :usa http://imgur.com/a/4aN2k
Nice pics! How do you like that machine?
It hasnt missed a beat so far. Seems to be burning a little antifreeze :beatsme. Has the power of a 330 without having to move the weight of one around is the best way I can describe it.
Do you SMELL antifreeze in the exhaust? Later Bob
No. It's not absolutely destroying coolant by any means, but its going somewhere. Our dealer knows about it. They can't seem to pinpoint it, and being a couple hours away from the nearest cat shop its pretty inconvenient to drop it off there while they figure it out, especially now that we are entering the busy season. If it becomes a significant amount however, they'll have to take a closer look. While its under warranty we'll just watch it closely and keep them informed as best we can.
Is the engine one that sends some exhaust back into the engine through an exhaust cooler? Some of them are breaking and letting coolant into the cylinders If yours is that type watch out. Lots of heater hose and heater to leak aswell. Later Bob
Local railway had a 324D and 324E here working on a railbed that spring runoff had eroded. I had to look twice at the model numbers because the 324E sure looked a lot bigger than the 324D! Is that due to additional emissions and cooling equipment for the newer engines? BTW, the 324E didn't even have the paint wore off the bucket yet. Pretty new and clean looking overall! Andrew
Thank you for the insight Bob, is this an issue for a specific serial number range? It is one of the early E-models. Yeah the E has that extra hood room for the emissions. The first mind-blower for me was sitting in the seat, turning around, and not being able to see behind the machine at all. The backup camera is kind of a nice thing to have with it. They did do a nice job of getting all the emissions stuff up high so someone that is brave enough can work on it without too much trouble. Thankfully we haven't had any issues with it so far. It was delivered november of 2012, its done more digging than what it looks like. It's kind of our sweetheart :tong. I splattered the windshield with some mud when we were working and I about cried.
Nice work, where was this job at?
