CASE 450 SERIES 3 SKIDSTEER Good morning, I am new to the forum but what I have seen, it looks to be very helpful. I am recently having issues with my park brake system and i think it is the seat switch. Usually when i sit in the seat it will turn on my instrument cluster with the key off. It doesn't do that anymore and it won't let me release the park brake. It will start but won't move and my arms are down. By the forums i have read it looks to be the seat switch. Does anyone know how to access the seat switch and if you can flip the seat up to access it or do you have to flip the cab up. Again my arms are down. if anyone has an idea where i could get the fuse diagram and repair manuals for this unit that would be very helpful. It is stuck outside at a property and will be going out there to work on it, so i won't be responding right away, but i will for sure. thanks for all your help and suggestions
You should be able to pull the seat harness out far enough to unplug it. Make a jumper wire and bypass the switch, start the machine, tilt the cab and there you are.
Be careful with Case seat switches. Many times the switch is OK, but there’s a resistor hidden in the switch’s pig tail. In this case it’s not ON/Off switch, but 25/35 ohm switch, or something like that.
Thanks for the tips. I got the cab tilted enough to bypass the switch to get it to operate. On my unit it is the red wire and the orange beige wire as i have a 4 wire plug for the seat. After getting into the shop and lifting the arms, i removed the seat and found that there are two #6 bolts located on front lower part of the seat by the heated seat switch and the height adjuster. With a 10 mm socket you remove the two bolts and the bottom seat can be removed. Be careful as they don't give too much wire to the switch and heater. The way the plug on the switch is located, the bar on the seat pressed heavy on the wires coming out of the plug and in my case causing the wire to break right at the plug. I removed the spades from the plug and soldered the wires onto the spades. I cleaned up my mess with the bypass but not removing it but having it so it is easy access from the side plate if i need it again some day. Does anyone know of any sites you can pull a repair manual for these 450 case. i am leery of giving any credit information to the ones you buy them from. i would like to do a service on this unit as i don't know when it was last done and before my dad passed he was having a lot of issues with the fuel freezing in the lines so i definitely want to change out the filters etc. i even be happy with some youtube videos but hard to find for the 450 case repairs
