I got the pump rebuilt and an not sure on how to time the pump. If any one can tell me how to time a 480LL. Thanks
If it has the "Roosa Master/Stanadyne" pump.. Did the drive shaft stay in the engine?? Note the "dot" on the end of the shaft.. NOW look inside your pump. see the "dot"?? Line up the 2 dots and slip the pump onto the drive shaft. The hard part is getting the seals in with out rolling them.. just use plenty of lube.. BOTH inside the pump tube AND drive sh. seals.. IF your dot inside the pump is "way off" from the dot on the d.s... use a wide blade screwdriver inside the pump to turn it.. I'm not sure of the correct engine degrees for fine tuning.. but once you find out.. set your engine to "X" degrees and remove the side plate on the pump and rotate the pump until the 2 lines meet and lock the pump down.
The shaft came out when we got it rebuilt and it is a stanadyne pump
