I have a 97 560 timberjack skidder when you shift into 3rd gear it goes into the high side an it lugs down in a pull I have replaced the high low solenoid an was just wondering if it could be in the 2nd an 3rd gear solenoid or in the transmission. It seems to have 2nd gear just not 3rd or 5th gear as well any help would me much appreciated thanks
With the key switch off move the shifter into reverse and pull it to you and hold it there, then turn on the key switch, this will put it diagnostic mode. It will flash each gear as good , open , or short. G O S. The wiring harness will chafe where it goes from right side under pumps to the trans control valve on the left side. Internal issues can be diagnosed by watching for trans pump psi decreases when engaging the problem gear selections.
