Fuel shutoff solenoid? As a guess I would say it goes into the case before you screw the solenoid in? Dunno though...

Looks to me like it goes under that little red rubber like plug, to push out and shut the fuel off when it's de-energized.

first that red plug tip dont come off. so let me start at the begining 6 mo,s ago the machine wont start did some investigateing ,, soleniod not working so i got a aftermarket replacement looks almost the same as this one . i tried it on a battery before i put it on ,with a jumper wire and it pops in n out ok . so i pop it in and starts right up. then i do some yard work this n that and if i stall the motor it will start right back up ....butttt if i stop got get a beverage .take a pee pee break.. i got back to machine .. and bamm it wont start. i pulled it off , test again and it pops in n out ???? ok put it back on pump.. starts right up..?? and same story it will start if the machine is off for over and hour or if you stall but wait a minute or two and it wont start so i fiddled about and when this no start thing happens ,, if i bleed the pressure off the fuel system like opening the water seperator on the filter or undoing a screw on the feul lines as if i were trying to bleed air . retighten and go start and it starts like a charm ?? what the hell . you can hear the click in it as it pops up n down when it is operational. but if theres any pressure in fuel line bettween fuel pump and injector pump the click doesn't happen ??? so ok maybe a bad part get another one from another supplier ,, so i have a spare part .so i tried to pull the red tip off and ripped it off the top . so its not removable ' so where the spring goes ?? as it is there is a spring inside pushing the redtip up . ? i heard on another thread dont lose the spring ? unless the original verision didnt have that rubber tip and you pop the spring in and install. confuseing so i figure the aftermarket part not same as a case part so i got the case part at 2x price and the spring / so now i currently have 3 units and one spring $225 so far / im sending the spring back $25 and see how the case part goes . if it fails to work i will l eat my mets hat and resort to useing some string trimmer line connected to the shut off arm and run it into cab and put in the solenoid the i rippied the tip off since that one it starts but wont shut off engine / it works that way but i would like it to start n stop with just the key like other normal people // i should have run down to the city as tried to get near the pope to get the solenoid blessed / im at a loss / someone told meto see if the check valve was stuck?? check valve ?? maybe get a 5lb sledge and start pounding on that bitch arghhh. my solenoid installs on bottom of pump so you cant drop the spring in then screw it on

My original solenoid started to leak so I purchased a non case aftermarket one. It did the same thing as you describe. Started ran for a while shut off. If I tried to reprime with the mecahnical fuel pump and bleeder open at injector pump it would start again. Shortly there after it would shut off and not restart. I put the old leaky one back in.

Is this the same machine that you are asking questions about in your other thread ? That thread has 580K in the title and this one is 580, with no series designation.

yup same machine same issue the above pic is actual pic of a case part this pic is the aftermarket part its stamped 12v but i really think it works best on 24v on 12 its real weak thus not working right i got the case # part in and its working fine

Looks like Case sends their parts to the Pope and he blesses them.......thats why the cheap aftermarket ones dont work. I wonder how much Case pays the Pope for the blessings?
