Have an issue with forward and reverse in my backhoe. All hydraulics work fine, ie bucket, boom, stabilizers. Only thing I can’t figure out is froward and reverse So here is where problems started. Last weekend had a leaky stabilizer parked due to hyd. Tank low, started this weekend added fluid and went to move but nothing. Thought it might be cutout switch but not sure how to test. Wondering if tank being low might have cavitated the shuttle or torque converter Any help is greatly appreciated.
Can't effect the shuttle or torque converter , they operate on trans hydraulic which is not part of your hydraulic system. If there's a clutch switch on the loader control I'd start there and then if that didn't work keep checking here until some of these more knowledgeable gentle men give you some credible advice.
Was the machine moving fine before cylinder repair? Have you pulled the dipstick above the starter to check oil in shuttle? Does the driveshaft turn when you put in in forward or reverse? As Billrog said check your declutch switch in loader control handle and four speed shifter handle.
Yes machine was moving fine just had new front and rear tires put on and dig a footing for a building that’s when we noticed the cylinder leaking pretty good when lifted. Yes checked dipstick by starter and was within limits. Driveshaft looks to be turning when engaged just not movement. Wheels look like they are moving when machine is off ground slightly but nothing noticeable when on ground. If I just disconnect plugs to cutout switch’s it should disengage correct? And allow movement.
You can try and unplug the declutch solenoid at the shuttle and see what happens. Or you can remove the solenoid completely with machine jacked up (wheels off the ground) put shifter in gear and push plunger in on shuttle control valve, it should move. Also check the wires at solenoid they are bad to break there.
So got around to checking machine out today and found that foot switch was faulty and was activated. As soon as I disconnected the wires I put in drive and worked flawlessly.
Cool beans glad you got it going
Think I could just replace that switch with any sort of momentary waterproof switch? Local case dealer wants $75 for a new on found some online for $20
You can probably find one online the part no. is D135612 so see what you can find.
