I have a 580 super l that quits driving (like it would if it popped out of gear) you move the shuttle shift to neutral and back into gear and it drives again.
Don't know if this is the same problem I had recently but there was a loose circuit breaker. It was loose in the plug in. Similar situation.
A friend of mine had a 580Super L series 1 that the fuse would fall out and you wouldnt go any were. But it wasnt loose it would fall right out.
I would check the pressure on top of the control valve, there are check plugs and it would be helpful if you had a copy of the information for testing procedures. That being said, from my experience that problem could be also caused by a faulty F&R lever or a failing time delay relay. melben
I've run across this a bunch. Just about any of the relays or the trans fuse could be bad or have a bad connection. The button in the shifter or the bucket control handle which is clutch cut-out could be hanging or wires shorting out. The coils on control valve should ohm around 6 i think, when they start pulling too much of a load the relays will over heat and turn off. On the control valve there is a plug next to the solenoid cartridge and opposite side that has a spool internally held in place with a snap ring. It will be erratic if it hangs or snap ring out of place. Could be the pump weak but the last one i just done.....worked on it a bunch before i pulled it out....found the torque convertor bad. Had that rebuilt, installed with new oil and filter. Works good. Best thing to do is check voltage at solenoid while in gear, if voltage stays when trans disengages....probally the spool in control valve, pump or torque convertor. If you lose fire at solenoid when it disengages then you know to check electric system.
