got a 580 super m series 2 extenda hoe The dipper blew its seal We ordered a kit from case dealer got it apart and the seals in the kit appear to be to small Not sure what’s going on. Got the machine used in the spring at work other than that she’s running like a dream. What a pain to get the cap off though... Found it has a rubber and nylon seal on the cap that was up in the threads as we took it apart and found the threads are half missing on the cap made for a rough removal. The inside threads on the chamber took good and boor is clean. Not sure what’s going on. We are a 1200km drive to the nearest dealer. Took forever to find the part number not allot of good info out there on where it’s located. Says T183795A4011905. Searching that comes up with nothing I’ll upload pics when I get home on satellite internet at work witch has no upload Anyone have advice on what’s going on? Can’t find the part number google it and phones down today
I will measure mine and see if series 3 is the same or not.
Here is a link to it. But, check the parts book for the correct cylinder you have. There is a machine serial number break and there is a different parts book for them. https://partstore.casece.com/us/par...71eb2824&sl=EN¤cy=#epc::mr59457ar433197
the drawings show what looks like a different piston then what mine has in the book and what u link to in the online catilog. i dont have a parts book thought we ordered one with a manual but only got a manual that takes up 3 large binders, below is links to some google drive images sorry my ipad to my surprize saved images in some format ive never herd of or i would of got my dslr out instead stupid apple https://drive.google.com/file/d/19Bklnoy59E2_zVLKmKnO3PQhU4H6UzsH/view https://drive.google.com/open?id=1QHFTxlff1rzLur08qA33UkP-zUgOIb_U o and the name plate if that help any https://drive.google.com/open?id=19fwtWGURLKfNgLBEEkEC3siIF4idDAAO
What was the part number of the seal kit you ordered? What is the diameter of the rod? - The diagram above shows 1 3/4" because it is a dipper extension cylinder most dipper cylinders are 2.5" which should use a 1542915C2 kit which now subs to 84154316 The gland design is an abomination! - due to not having threads all the way along the OD & they could also use an oring right at the flange end to seal water from entering into the threaded area.
I'm guessing it is an aftermarket cylinder. Not a Case cylinder. Coy or Alrman may know.
the gland needs to be replaced threads are allmost all gone on it. the cylinder its self the threads are fine made for a pain getting it apart though. the kit number 84154316 is the one we got. when you compare the seals on the pistion with the ones in the kit they are a different diamiter well the ones we can get off as we dont have a 2 1/4 or 57mm socket. having one brought up dunno if its metric or imperial damn canada
The part number for the complete cylinder is 183795A4 - which matches part of your number - so the seal kit you have should fit. The 011905 is probably a manufacture date - 19th Jan 2005 Cylinder ID is 127mm (5.00") & rod size is 64mm (2.50") The 590SM has a bigger cylinder ID 140mm (5.50") & rod 70mm (2.75") - but the cylinder number is different to yours (140965A1) I doubt that the cylinder is aftermarket, I've seen enough of them to know you have a genuine CNH rod & piston sitting on the bench. ****TIP - I hope that socket your waiting on is 1" drive - a 3/4" one won't budge that bolt & you will likely shear any 3/4" - 1" adaptor.
1in? crap gues be waiting even longer
The Lead maintaince guy ordered a 3/4 750lb torq multiplayer a while back for this job told me to shut up and the usual u don’t know crap stubborn attitude some people give he’s admit the kit is wrong based on the blueish green seal having a gap when installed from the kit that’s on the piston Anyhow dug out a caliper from home and the rod is 2.5 inches
Is it possible this is metric and they sent a kit in imperial sizes seen crap like that befor on other stuff
No I doubt it. It's all about the numbers, that seal kit number matches your cylinder number.
just weird that the sizes of things dont match up. my co worker aka the lead discused it with the boss (a mechanical engineer with 50yrs experiance) decided to just change the one seal for now as we dont have time to be waiting around for sockets (take 2 weeks to get one orderd)
