Does it come out to the front or the back? all help appreciated
There's alot more room out towards the front. You have removed the support clamp? If the pipe is leaking, a flexible hose will be the best replacement ......so a grinder with a cutting disc will allow the old steel pipe to go out any way you wanted.......
Yes I removed the clamp and it's free, I just can't manipulate it over the axel. The pipe has a small split in it about 20mm long and one of my alternatives was welding it in situ. A hose would be OK as a replacement? that was my second thought.
Use a tubing cutter.... from that point you can flare it and put a nipple and in between the two halves or use a compression fitting if the end of the tube terminate to a hose on either end
Hoses are commonly used to replace steel hydraulic lines. Be sure it is rated for the psi of the circuit. I have brazed many steel lines that the seam split or a hole was made in it from vibration and rubbing against something.
Thank you people. Job's done. Rang the hydraulic hose supplier, suggested the same as airmen. New hose fitted and secured within 15 minutes of getting home.
