seems my diff or brakes are locked...It may be as simple as a release pedal on the floor...I'm a new owner greenhorn so this may be embarrassing but simple any thoughts.
Do you mean it will not move or are you having trouble turning? Diff locks will usually release with a little forward/reverse rocking.
up on it feet the back right tire will not disengage from what feels like the diff lock...the back left turns when it is put in gear
I'm still confused. So will the machine drive forward and back okay? If you think the diff lock is still engaged, it's best not to turn the machine, especially on hard ground. Lift the machine with the outriggers and see if one or both wheels turn. Phil
Sounds like the balls have gone off their ramps in the actuators on the RHS - locking it up. It may free up with a little jolt in reverse - you will however, need to check for oil on the linings or the brakes could be worn out & need replacing. PS - don't ever use the diff lock unless you REALLY have to - they make the crownwheel & pinion suppliers very happy...
Disclaimer: this works for deere - dunno about case. If the diff. lock is engaged, you should just have to hit the brake pedal... and it releases it
thats how mine works...... had the right brake hang on mine and it just wanted to go to the left....then backed up and it popped loose.....brakes where shot...new brakes and i never did it agian...
Have seen where the slave cylinder gets rusty and when you apple the brakes and release the cylinder does not return. Or the pivit point pin is rusted fast and holds the brake on. Get under the machine and have some one push the pedel and watch to see if the arm move up and down. I have been working at a Case dealership for 32 years and have seen those two things a lot of times.
That sounds like good advice.....Thanks.
