Sounds like your fluid level is too low.

Checked the fluid level, it actually was a bit high, wondering if perhaps to much fluid is not allowing clutch plates to work properly?

That's unlikely. What type of oil are you using.....and does it smell burned or look different?

Pull the pan and look at the suction screen, sounds like you will be pulling it again, do you have a service manual? it shows how to pressure check it. Check FWD/ REV and Neutral pressures and post back.

This is important on these. The rebuild kits come with different thicknesses of clutch snap rings so you can get the proper clearance for your clutch plates. The piston doesn't have a lot of travel so the clearances are critical to it operating correctly.

Send me your email address in a PM if you need the manuals.

I u used tch fluid, smells fine, looks good. Weirdest thing though, started machine this morning, moves fine, even loading dirt in bucket then after 5 minutes or so i have no foward or reverse. I rebuilt the entire shuttle except the pin with spring enclosed for solinoid. Could it be torque converter?

Typical result of the clutch cut-out solenoid or the spool it controls having a problem. Or the switch that controls it. A broken power wire to it is also a possibility. A volt meter would be needed to check continuity.

Ok thanks i will trouble shoot that and see what the outcome is

Well that was easy...the wires to the cutout solenoid are cut....geez the previous owner hacked alot of wires in this machine

I don't think those broken wires will fix your issue..... or I should say I'd be very surprised if repairing them did.

Well that was easy...the wires to the cutout solenoid are cut Those wires were cut a month ago when you rebuilt it, they were cut when it worked this morning for 5 minutes, so it's not those wires. Joe H

If the problem persists, and it prolly will. Remove the clutch cut-out valve and look for any broken springs. The spool may be moving because there is a problem with it. Take pictures of it before you take it apart. There are a lot of pieces in it.

Throwing this out there. On a automotive automatic trans, if there is too much fluid in the trans, it gets up in the spinning part of the trans and that makes the fluid foam. When the fluid foams and gets air in it, the hydraulics do not work properly in the trans. Your shuttle shift is just a very simple automatic trans with a torque convertor.
