580ck backhoe

Hello new to this but need help with a case 580ck backhoe,has no reverse,trying to get manual shuttle plate off but cant

    Well there is a trick to removing the top cover for the mechanical shuttle. You have to shift the two levers in opposite directions. The hi/lo lever push all the way down and the forward lever all the way up. Then when you lift the cover the hi/lo lever has to be moved just a bit more to clear housing.

    Thank you but the problem is I can't get it in to reverse unless I move the plate forward about have an inch

    Go underneath and use a pipewrench, turn it clockwise it will push the shuttle lever back up. i disconnected mine as it did the same thing.
