580ck gringing gears when trying to shift

I just got my 1970 580 ck up and running today it wasnt moving and i found out the keyway was sheared for the shuttle pump so i replace it and now she moves.Now it is kind tough to shift the trans in gear it wants to grind the gears but does go in and sometimes it will go in real smooth is there any adjustment for this ???

    Xpackdeals, I posed this same question in my on-going saga about the world's roughest backhoe. If you want some slow boring reading you might catch it there. I won't know if it's fixed until it's all back together. Good luck! Packratc
