Just started having problem today. Boom transport latch disengages all by itself. The latch just bounces up. Can be sitting there not running and it can happen. Kinda puts us in a dangerous position when working among tombstones. Anyone else have this problem? Best way to repair?
Is the hook damaged or the boom hook face or both? Is the hook dropping down all the way? If hook, replace it, case is proud of them so hold on to your hat! If the back bevel on both has worn there may be enough meat left to grind a bevel. A picture would help to know what is going on.
I'd like to see a picture. My 580K had a big moving part that wore to where it'd do that. I took a grinder & reshaped it a bit to improve the connection between it & the boom. It cured mine.
