i have just rebuilt the tranny in my forklift . not sure if i have the pump in rite. it has a little pressure coming out the dip stick tube , it moves forward let off gas and it will roll . in reverse it moves but when you let off the gas it wont coast like a brake keeps it from rolling forward. any help would be appreciated

Hate to tell you this Dale..... but the shuttle will need to come out again.... The pressure in dipstick tube, likely is caused by a hemorrhage of oil. The reverse problem??? possibly the forward pack is dragging/ still engaged.

thanks for the info i knew i should have marked it better. do you happen to know the clearence for the forward clutch i used the thinest ring in the pack

I always set them with a .025" clearance. While on the subject of snap rings, there is one fitted between the fwd piston carrier & the fwd pack - in with the bellville washer - It does not fit into a groove but is used as a spacer & should measure .097"

just to b sure . my spring plate was broke when i first took it apart and want to make sure which way it goes . the spring angle looks like the center should go towards the clutches not towards the small round ring

When you install the spring the convex side should be up.....The ID of the spring must be fitted against the steel ring on the fwd piston.... I think you found your problem. Be sure the seal on the fwd piston is OK & the piston has not been pushed out of the carrier. :thumbsup :drinkup
