If you can give me a part number i will call my deere dealer. I have a pretty good relationship with there parts department. If they cann't get it they will be able to point me in the right direction. Also i call BS on the parts being disscontinued. They made thousands of the G model tractors and you see them around still. Got to be able to get parts somewhere.

oh the parts are no problem I found clutches for 26.00 instead of deeres 87, and they look identical and my buddy has used hundreds of them over the years, Its the service bulletins they cant find. or wont. This one has 7k hours and the trans still looks good but broke one clutch disc and toasted second gear. Im going to have that pack down tomorrow and will update.

got a good service writer to find the update bulletins, lots of good info, should last as long as the original, about 10k hours, also added a clutch disc and steel to the two that onlyhad three,. Why would they only use 3 frictions in second gear, the one used the most, in our work. Other than a missing thrust washer from factory, I assume, no sign of it in trans or screen, and its never been out since new. looked remarkably good. But then it is an older deere, I am biased.LOL

from what i remember, there was a campaign/recall/field mod on those transmissions where the g series 1st came out. i pulled and disassembled alot of them, and it seems like it was something to do with thrust washers. when i get back to the shop in a couple days, i'll look through some of my old manuals and notes to see if i can find anything. :drinkup
