Good afternoon guys, i have a John Deere 650G. The machine is leaking out of the inspection plate from the bell housing. determined it is the torque converter seal. pulled the engine out and replaced the seal. checked the converter for any visible cacks or other issues but could not find any. put the unit back together and it was still leaking. ran the machine at full rpm and the leak turns to a steady stream. when you stall the machine at full rpm it reduces the leak to just a small drip. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to HEF Jlbryson86 . The converter shown in the parts pages is bolted together. Could have an o-ring leaking. https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/sidebyside/equipment/60483/referrer/navigation/pgId/402433770 .
One thing that keeps throwing me off is that when we took the converter off from the block it was dry. i replaced the seal just as a precaution. Also i have noticed that the boost pressure is low. i have herd that the boost pressure is related to the torque converter on these machines.
Did you notice if seal ring #12 was still in place ?
