anyone know anything about deere 690e lc pumps? i just bought one and found out that the pumps going out of it. once i get a new pump what can i do to keep it from going out. i heard its going to cost me $10,000. is it true???
Change all the hydraulic oil. You can rent a hydraulic filter machine that'll filter it out. if you don't any metal that's left in the oil can ruin the pump again.
it is VERY important that you have the equipment/expertise to TOTALLY purge this system, flush it out. unless you drain all the hyd. lines/valves/cylinders, and get the contaminants out, you're back to where you are right now in very short order. i would highly recommend that you hire someone with the equipment and expertise capable of doing this.
You should be able to get a re-manufactured pump for around $5,000. Also you probably won't get this price from a dealer, and should look at some of the hydraulic outfits. And yes flush out the system as mentioned before. Don't know how many pieces of equipment you have, but a portable hydraulic filter cart would be a good investment. You can get a Parker filter cart for around $1,500. These filter carts have a pump, a couple of filters, and a couple of hoses with wands. You can use these to periodically filter the fluid in your tank, and can also remove any moisture in the fluid with a special element. They are well worth the money if you have several pieces of equipment to get longer life out of the fluid and the components, especially when you consider what you would have to pay a shop to do it a few times. Edit: Just did a quick web search and found a company with a reman pump for $5,500. http://www.gulfsouthequip.com/parts/john-deere/excavators/hydraulic-pumps/hyd-pump-reman-main-hydraulic-pump-690e-lc.html
the serial number is 271e120051 and Rich from murphy in lincoln said the hydraulic pressures are about 500psi low and fluctuates real bad and as machine warms up the pump gets real noisy. They said a complete pump rebuild and turn key set up for me would be around $14000. Man i could find a better way to spend that money! The to pressure lines that come out of the pump you can feel a pulse of pressure in them when at an idle. The pump looks like its been rebuilt once before because it has red paint on it.
