What is the process (steps) to remove a winch from a D6R- (5LN), ?
It depends on what type of controls it has and whether it has an internal pump. Unhook the control cables or wires. If there is an external pump unhook the suction and pressure hose. Then hook onto the lifting hooks on top. Take off all the mounting nuts and pull the winch off the machine as straight as possible. The pto shaft that drives it just comes off the spline but will bind if you go too crooked coming off.
After the winch comes off, will I have to get a plate cover & replace where pto connects ? o
Yes there will be a plate, 6 bolts, and gasket you will need after removing the winch.
