Was looking at a 2005 744J at the auction yard today and noticed a hot spot on the intake side of the cylinder head. Any idea what causes this? It didn't appear to have any fresh welding on it and on another 744J that was there it did not have the same hotspot with discolor and melted paint.
Do not look any further. Unless someone can prove the camshaft and bearings have been replaced, the center camshaft bearing has seized to the cam.
