Started loader this morning to try to fix brake pedal problem to find another problem when it started it would not idle back down seems to try to run wide open. The only way i could get it to stop was to turn fuel off on tank.I just had engine completely rebuilt had water in the oil.I have only used it about 3 hrs since getting it back from shop. I did find a small amount of trash in the fuel bowl on tank and on pump, didn't know if possibly a peice of trash could cause this problem it ran perfect the evening before, but i thought i had ran out of fuel it stalled like it was out of fuel but it wasn't .I pumped the little hand pump on the fuel pump then it started but ran wide open even when pulling the fuel shutoff . Hope someone can help. Thanks wayneb.
Did you check the simple stuff, linkages and such? Is it mixing fuel and oil?
i did check all linkage. It ran fine the first 2 or 3 hrs then act like it was maybe running out of fuel it was late evening so i quit and waited till next morning i checked fuel it was fine i thought maybe it had gotten a little water so i pumped the hand pump and it started right away but ran wide open. Not sure what you mean about mixing fuel and oil? thanks for the reply stumpjumper83.
I think what stumpjumper is asing, is whether the engine oil level is at correct level? Higher than full level? + Has there been any extra smoke coming from exhaust at any time?
the oil level is correct, didn't see any extra smoke. The mechanic that built the engine seems to think maybe something broke in the govenor area of the pump i'm really lost on this one.
Dont know what fuel pump you have, but have seen water in oil engines stick the rack or the govenor itself. If you cant move the rack you might have to pull the pump. Run aways can end badly, procede with caution. Harvey
