hello, my buddy owns a 580k and he has an issue with hyrdraulic fluid getting into his oil and making it come out the overflow. i was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what it would be. if any one has any information it would be much appreciated. thank you
Are we talking about a 1987 580K ?. Are you saying the hyd fluid is filling the crankcase engine oil and coming out the breather. And are you sure it's not fuel oil leaking in the engine causing the issue. Does it have a fuel smell to the oil on the dipstick.
If you have hydraulic oil in your engine crankcase it is coming in through a shaft seal from another pump mounted to the engine. Look for a small gear pump or vane pump mounted to the front of the engine. I'm not familiar with the 580K but have had it happen with several other models.
