850c transmission

I have an 850c dozer and after a few minutes of operation the trans guage goes to yellow and the tranny starts disengaging. Could it be filters? It's a 1981

    Is it a Case or John Deere? A serial number of the machine will be needed by those in the know.

    Yes filters can cause that, mostly the suction strainer. Remove the strainer and clean it...……...it is pretty much in the belly pan under the driveline.

    Unfortunately, it's never likely that filters will fix this type of problem. There are many things that can cause this, as these transmissions can develop many issues with age. Worn/broken shaft seal rings; worn/damaged clutch packs; bad torque converters; worn charge pumps...... etc etc Is it the transmission pressure gauge that is going into yellow or the temperature?
