How do you get the pins out to replace brake shoes? It looks like there is a pin that you remove a clip and push out the back of the backing plate but it looks like the pin has a sleave over and if it does it will now be one part. Thought may be some one has be there and done that before.

They talked about torching the shoes to get to the pins that held them but i will have these relined so that was out. I got one side apart. The pins are about 3/4" they have a pipe over them and they go through a hole in the shoe and stick out the backing plate. I heated the end up red hot and used a air chisel with a blunt punch. The end of the pin that is inside the drum has a clip on it. One was missing its clip but its not need after rust takes over.
