938 g wheel loader problem

Alihashim ยท 2016-08-21 23:39

Dear all I have a 938 g wheel loader, year is 1999. Before few days, the machine stopped moving forward and backward. We tried to see the damage by using the computer, but no damages were recorded. Some people said the haydraulic pumps related to the gear don't work properly. Please advise??

Do a pressure check possibly solenoids? I always start with a pressure test of the system

Another couple things to check are filters and suction strainers. Also the year of a machine is not as important as the S/N especially the Prefix.

Hi: I think the first thing you must do is determine if the problem is a mechanical or electrical: Start doing the basic, check the oil level, smell the oil, if it smell like burned oil you are having problem with the transmission itself, drain a sample oil from directly from the drain plug to look for metal particles, then remove the magnetic strainer and check for more metal particles if you find metal particles remove the oil filter and cut it to determine how bad is the situation if you find a lot of metal particles, steel or brass your problem is heavy wear in the xmission and need major repair. If you find moderate or normal metal particles, replace the filters, leave the engine running to warm up the oil, then perform a pressure test of the xmission charging pump to determine its condition. If you have normal charging pump pressure reading then be careful its time to perform pressure tests of the directional and speed clutches, if you have no pressure at the clutch ports its time to determine if the problem is electrical, could be caused for a bad xmission shifter, or both directional solenoids or sometimes could be a broken wire or broken magnetic speed sensor and so on, hope it helps. keep looking. Good luck Dherreiros

Check the batteries, I had a 950F that had a weak battery, it had enough voltage to start the machine but would run down and not have enough voltage to operate the solenoids to shift into F or R. Corrected the charging /battery problem and the shifting problem was cured.
