938K temp problem

Hi All I have a problem with our 938K SWJ04035. As soon as the key is turned on the coolant temp gauge goes to the red and the alarm beeps. It does this when the engine is cold so I know it's not running hot. Changed the coolant temp sensor but it did'nt mane any difference. Any ideas? Thanks,Al

    Are there any Active Codes on the monitor display.? Regarding the Serial Number is it SWL-prefix rather than SWJ.?

    Thanks Nige. Found the problem. Wire to temp sensor was shorted to ground.
