I have a 2015 938M J3R00536. Coolant temperature starts at over 100 degrees and climbs steadily after starting until the buzzer and alarm sounds when it reaches 250 degrees or so. Full of coolant. Radiator has been cleaned. Would anyone know the location of the temperature sensor itself? I’m thinking it may be faulty. I have had a run of bad luck with caterpillar sensors lately…
Temp sensor on this unit is right by the thermostat housing at the front of the cylinder head. Quick check with an infrared temp gun will confirm your suspicions.
