941b vs 941

I'm looking at what i'm told is a 941B, however they took a picture of the data plate it only says 941 and then has the serial number starting with 80H which i show can be a 941 or 941b they over lapped about 5 years or so. My question is shouldn't the data plate say 941B and then the serial? Thanks for the help.

Thank you for the reply but that does not really help, I did a serial look up on their site and they show a 941 80H and a 941b 80H with over lapping serial numbers. Maybe it does not matter what is the difference between a 941 and 941B? They would be about 4 years apart on age depending on which model number you plug the rest of the serial number into.

The 941 became the 941B at serial 80H 3040. The main change was the introduction of the 3304 engine to replace the D330c, (still 80h.p.)

941 (941A) is older. It's a machine lighter and stronger. Is slower but stronger for excavation. 941B is newer. It has reinforcements where the old model had breaks or cracks. It is faster to move, however, has less force at the time of excavation. Both models were very popular in my country (Brazil) between 1970 and 1990. Although there are many machines of this type of activity here in Brazil, although the high cost of tracks make it less and less viable in comparison with hydraulic excavators from 7 to 12 tons. Good bye

941 80H series was 70hp. 80H3040 up is 941B still with D330C but now 80hp. 3304 fitted at 80H3884. hp stll 80. good tools, and still have a place in my book. Went from a 933G to a 941. Bit like going from the ark to the spaceshuttle ! merv
