951C Radiator Removal

Hello all. (951C 86J3065) My neighbor is borrowing my 951C and is sorting out a few on the things that I'd not gotten to yet. It is overheating a bit (The oil cooler has been out and cleaned up. It wasn't too bad, but definitely wasn't clean...) and the radiator looks like it is pretty gunked up, so we've decided to pull it and get it tanked, rodded, and tested (or whatever they actually do with them these days) to make sure it is tip top. By my luck and close relation to Murphy, it is guaranteed that if I don't, it will make like "old Faithful" as soon as I start pushing it a bit. Also makes it easier to get to the water pump and make sure the impeller and such is in good order. Have most of it all disconnected but now looking for the best way to actually get the thing out of there. Book just says take all the bolts out and lift it with eyes from the top. We are outside and would be pretty hard to get the radiator out above the loaded over the nose guard. Also having a hard time getting the lower set of fan guard and mounting bolts, and have broken a couple on the top. Looked through the forum a bit and didn't really find much on removing the radiator from this unit. That either means that I'm bad at searching the forum (likely) or that this is easy enough that it doesn't rate questions (also likely). But here I am... We are thinking that pulling the nose group with the radiator assembly might make the most sense. That looks like the 3 bolts and each side and 3 along the bottom. Once loose, seems that we would have better access to the rest of the mounting hardware and be able to get it out. The two bolts we broke at the top will now act as pins that will likely complicate things... One downside is that we won't have the leverage of having it attached to the machine, so could be more difficult to get out it it is tight. Any advice on how best to remove it? Are we going down the right path here? Appreciate your insights and experience. This has the trans cooler which is mounted in the radiator assembly. I cannot find that configuration in the book. There is a little bit in the parts manual, but not the front set of lines. The hard lines have mounting colors that came out split. They are a bit rough, but thinking these are probably by design so they aren't captive on the pipes? As the parts and service manuals don't appear to have these in them, looking for some verification?

the best way is straight up with radiator shroud in place. the fan guards are hard to get , i think your moving too fast on the bolts ! gain a little back off a bit or try some heat, i have pulled a 955 a few times and iam sure there almost identical , if you can start motor raise mast almost as high as it will go then chain mast up with 2 chains and binders from rops to behind bucket if you dont have rops this way is moot ? run a chain across mast from one side too the other ,link it centered on radiator. attach come a long or 1 ton hoist, there are 2 mounts at the bottom tank i believe and the 4 at top in the corners of top tank, use heat and try not too strip threads they prolly aint been out for 40 years or more, wd 40 and liquid wrench, or try the truck tire method raise mast and take out 6 bolts and put truck tire in front and let it fall forward on tire, you will have to take converter cooler lines off, i think the up through top is easiest , fest

Thank you. We got it out. The two broken bolts caused some issues. Amazing how tight all that is.
