He made a call and they said it need to be synchronized, he must use the 3 toggles to do this task. He also got a CD on the loader in the mail but cant find the synchronizing part. If he has been working this machine for a while he knows what to expect. Everything is electrical, look for a damaged wire or harness if none can be seen check and write down any codes on the dash. Guys here have a list of them and can help. Don't start callibrating untill you check codes. Later Bob

I'm with Bob. There's loads of threads here about how to fix Diagnostic Codes, particularly on 953's of various vintages. Just tell him the code will appear as 3 sets of 3-digit numbers. We need all three in order to come up with a diagnostic procedure for a specific code, because they identify first the module (MID), then the component (CID), lastly the failure mode (FMI). All Cat electronics on whatever model of machine use the same codes. A typical code would be 081 127 002. 081 (MID) is the Transmission Control, 127 (CID) is the Oil Pressure Sensor, and 002 (FMI) indicates it is giving "erratic, intermittent, or incorrect data".
