955L fault alarm horn

MikeVincoli ยท 2015-07-09 21:15

My 13x 955L originally had a fault light and alarm horn wired into a low/no engine oil pressure switch. Since new the wiring has become disconnected and the warning system is non functioning. I would like to get the system working again and will need to buy a new alarm horn. Does anyone know if this horn should be 12V or 24V?

For best results get original parts from parts book, you could however use a 24 volt horn controlled by a pair of switches one normally closed in the oil gallery and one normally open in the fuel transfer circuit. That will cause the horn to sound with low or no oil pressure if the fuel pressure is present indicating the engine is running. Later Bob
