the machine was doing a job and all of a studden lost power to the joy sticks . any idea where they can start trouble shooting?
Welcome gina7657! When you say "lost power to the joysticks" - you mean stopped driving; stopped operating the loader hydraulics; or both??
I should let Airman handle this one, but the first three things to check would be the switches one the seat, belly bar and cab. If one failed, and it is a frequent problem with my 95, you should see it on the upper right panel by not having all 3 "go lights" illuminated. The switch on the door will lock you out off loader arm functions as well, but I believe the machine will still move.
yes it stopped driving ,,,,,motor runs like a charm
Happy to have your thoughts included we are a community helping each other. So the loader frame is not operating either? Are the loader controls still moving as normal? As mbb asks, What are the green lights on the dash doing?
frame not working ..controls move front to back but not to side ,,,only one light on
I believe if you have a couple green lights out on the upper right panel then you likely have a switch problem. Even if it would turn out to be a more complex electrical problem these simpler diagnostics will need to be eliminated first. Pull your cab lock levers on either side of the seat and roll the cab forward. Both the switch on the cab( back left corner) and the seat switch can now be accessed. Unplug the electrical connection on one of the switches and insert a "U" shaped piece of electrical wire in the two holes of that harness plug, thus bypassing that particular switch. If that doesn't help the problem, move to the second switch and do the same. You will probably need to put the cab back down and relock your cab levers to test if you have made progress. The third green "go" light belongs to the belly bar and that switch is behind your left shoulder if you are sitting in the seat. If you are still diagnosing at this point bypass this switch as well and see if this cures your problem. Like I posted earlier the 4th switch that will lock out your hydraulics is the switch on the door, if you have a door. On my machine the SS will still drive if this switch is faulty, but loader arm functions will be locked out. I hope this gives you a place to start.
