963 247-9 Fault code

I have a 963 with no letter track loader. The machine will crank but no start. It is throwing a 247-9 fault code. Checked all the fuses, all the fuses were good. Was wondering if anyone could possibly help me

Someone can, but first need a machine Serial Number.

OK, so yours is one of the new models with no letter suffix, not the early no-suffix 963 dating back to the turn of the century. Do you see now why it's so important to ask.? 247-9 - SAE J1939 Data Link: Abnormal Update Rate Troubleshooting - "CAN Data Link - Test" See attached. You may require either Cat ET (preferred) or at the very least some type of scanner. EDIT: Does it say which ECM is registering the 247-9.? I may have given you the wrong troubleshooting procedure. The attached one is for the engine.

After connecting to the machine. It has also thrown a 590-9 engine control module abnormal update rate

Is there any indication which module has thrown the 247-9.? It would indicate 036 (engine ECM) if it was in the same ECM as the 590-9.

yes it says 036 engine ecm

OK, perfect. So scrap the procedure I posted above. Attached are the 247-9 and 590-9 procedures for the engine ECM.

Check terminating resistors, if network shows 60 ohm - put the scope on it, and look at the wave form. Although combined with 590-9, seems like engine ECM stopped requesting speed info.
