Just got my 973c out of shop had new rails installed a/c charged and delivered to my job after operating it about 8hrs had a pilot hose going to the single lever that operates the lift and bucket it had rubbed against a larger hose as its routing is a tight fit upwards with all the other hoses banded together the machin runs great so far fuel gauge says 3/4 but dont work they told me thats a big job to install a new sending unit im courios about that it has a strainer with a side hole for a dip stick like my older cat dozers dont know if it came that way there is no dip stick i noticed the small leak after i stopped working when i decide to shut off the master switch off i noticed the hydraulic oil leak there is a tank there with sight gauge it now showed little less maybe 1 gallon now it has less after i removed the hose i would say another 2 gallons its still in the green very clear hydraulic oil there is a trans dip stick also right there with a twist to loosen and tighten fill tube we are running same clear oil in that then there is a hydraulic tank in front under the boom arms it to has a site glass showing full i operated a 973 many years ago but dont remember all these different hydraulic tanks so could some one brush me up on this i dont have a book of any kind for it yet sn#BCP00310
The best & fastest thing you can do is download one from Cat Publications. Click this LINK put SEBU7413 in the box and click Search. Covers all BCP machines. You'll have it in 5 minutes or less.
Ok cool thx Nige
Square one in your picture is the hydrostatic tank, controls your drive. Between the arms is your hydraulic, both can use Hydo10.
Thx for replying appreciate that very much thank you
The dip stick beside that big square hydraulic tank is the gearbox oil that drives the hydraulic pumps. That is very critical oil level to maintain. There is not much oil in there at all. And for the fuel tank sender, i can't remember if you can get to it if you take the metal shrouds off from around the hydraulic tank. between the loader arms. But i do know you can see in there, wether or not you can get a new sender in there without removing the hydraulic tank and sution/feed/pilot lines is another thing. My machine does not have a dip stick on the fuel gauge. My unit is a 2001, so the early C model though.
Some punctuation would make your posts easier to read.
I'm sure of that it's my phone trying to see these little letters
