Hydraulics just lock up when trying to roll bucket forward as to dump it. Sometimes it will go and other times I have to let off pressure and try it again, sometimes 2 or 3 times. It never locks up when rolling it back only forward! No problems at all with the boom half, I'm just stumped. Help! Thanks Jim
Sounds like something stuck in the spool valve for that function.
I have experianced a similar problem in a smaller machine. It had a seal cut in the Pressure reducing valve that reduced pump pressure to pilot pressure. If you dumped the bucket too fast you would get too much pilot pressure and that would lock up the drift reduction valve. If that happened you had to stop and try again slowly. Will see what I can find out. Later Bob
It could be the signal from the sensor in the joy stick, or a solenoid on the pilot valve is hanging up. It could also be the main spool not shifting due to a broken spring or debris. Does the engine or hydraulic stall when it locks? Or is it just dead. Perform a calibration and see if it passes, if not what error code?
Engine and hydraulics do not stall, It has 2 codes (030 0826.08) & (082 0356.06) and sometimes when I use the detent it feels kind of clunky.
Sounds like MID 082 - CID 0356 - FMI 06 could be your problem. Here is the troubleshooting procedure. What i would do is swap coils for a quick and dirty way to test them. This diagnostic code is associated with the Proportional Solenoid (Tip Forward). The FMI 06 means that the ECM has determined that the current of the solenoid is above normal. The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed: The energize circuit of the solenoid is shorted to ground. The solenoid has failed. The ECM has failed. This is unlikely. Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear these diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 0356 FMI 06 is active before performing this procedure. Note: Use the 146-4080 Digital Multimeter for the measurements in this procedure. System Response: The bucket will not dump. The tilt lever must be recentered after the diagnostic code is corrected in order to allow the bucket to dump. Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOLENOID. Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine. Observe the status of the diagnostic code. Disconnect the solenoid with the active diagnostic code from the machine harness. Expected Result: CID 0356 FMI 06 changes to CID 0356 FMI 05 when the solenoid is disconnected. Results: YES - CID 0356 FMI 06 changes to CID 0356 FMI 05 when the solenoid is disconnected. The circuit is correct. Repair: The solenoid has failed. Repeat this test "CHECK THE SOLENOID" in order to verify the solenoid failure. Replace the solenoid. Stop. NO - CID 0356 FMI 06 remains active. Proceed to Test Step 2. Test Step 2. CHECK THE ENERGIZE CIRCUIT OF THE SOLENOID FOR A SHORT TO GROUND. Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position. The solenoid remains disconnected from the machine harness. Disconnect the machine harness connector(s) from the ECM. At the machine harness connector, measure the resistance from the signal contact J1-11 (wire E922-GN) to all contacts that are used in the machine harness connectors for the ECM. Expected Result: Each resistance measurement is greater than 5000 ohms. Results: OK - Each resistance measurement is greater than 5000 ohms. The machine harness is correct. Proceed to Test Step 3. NOT OK - Each resistance measurement is not greater than 5000 ohms. There is a short in the machine harness. The short is between J1-11 (wire E922-GN) and the circuit with the low resistance measurement. Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. Stop. Test Step 3. CHECK IF THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE REMAINS. Inspect the harness connectors and clean the contacts of the harness connectors. Reconnect all harness connectors. Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position. Operate the machine. Check the status of the CID 0356 FMI 06. Expected Result: The CID 0356 FMI 06 is active. Results: YES - The CID 0356 FMI 06 is active. The diagnostic code has not been corrected. The ECM may have failed. Repair: It is unlikely that the ECM has failed. Exit this procedure and perform this procedure again. If the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, replace the ECM. See Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace". Stop. NO - The CID 0356 FMI 06 is not active. The diagnostic code does not exist at this time. Repair: The initial diagnostic code was probably caused by a poor electrical connection or a short at one of the harness connectors that was disconnected and reconnected. Resume normal machine operation. Stop.
MID 030 - CID 0826 - FMI 08 This is for the torque oil temp sender. Test Step 1. CHECK THE TEMPERATURE SENDER. Disconnect the sender from the machine harness. Measure the resistance between the terminal and the case of the sender. The following data should be the correct approximate resistance: 54.4°C (130.0°F) at 850 to 1050 Ohms 110°C (230.0°F) at 140 to 160 Ohms These values are not exact, but the values should be used as guidelines for troubleshooting. Expected Result: The resistance of the temperature sender is within specifications. Results: OK - The resistance of the temperature sender is within specifications.STOP NOT OK - The resistance of the temperature sender is NOT within specifications. The temperature sender has failed. Repair: Replace the sender. STOP
Could have a problem with the bucket position sensor, I would do a joy stick calibration, and then go through the bucket position sensor and lift arm sensor calibration.
Swap the tip forward and tilt back pilot valves and see if the problem happens when you tip back. If it does, replace it. If it doesn't then it could be the ecm.
