Cycle the armrest and depress the brake pedal part way. The ECM should interpret that as an operator present event.
Will it allow operation until the switch is replaced or is That a temporary get it to the shop maneuver.
As far as I know it will allow normal operation. Obviously this has safety implications. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be recommending it. I've never come across a faulty seat switch IRL, so it will be interesting to get your feedback on how the bypass method works.
