Hello, the company I work for has a 2000 Caterpillar 988f series 2 loader that has the huei fuel system on the engine. My question is can the fuel delivery be increased like on a mechanical 3408 or not? Thanks in advance and happy Memorial Weekend!
Not without factory passwords, and you are not likely to get those, especially if it's for a power re-rate different to the standard BHP.
Would you even want to increase the BHP on a unit that old and not expect to see something pop. Good to get the existing unit running smoothly and learn to run it with the power it has. The outfit I did lots of work for put a 410 HP engine in a 320 HP rated machine and it ran good for 1 week. Blew the transmission up and the engineering was over. Just saying. Simon C
Wot he said….. 3400 HEUI engines are finicky enough without trying to turn the wick up.
