Anyone ever replace the equalizer bar ( springs on a 9u (1948) with a solid Bar: ? What part # did you use for the bracket it sets on ( between the side rails of the dozer?? Thanks
If you attempt to replace the mainspring on a D6 9U with a solid bar, you would need to mount it on rubber blocks, or you will end up with a fractured bar. All the Cats that run a factory equalizer bar have substantial size, angled rubber blocks mounted in the track frame, that the ends of the equalizer bar rest on. These are needed for shock absorption.
